    The 12th Annual Gumball Rally, sponsored by the Ritzville Classic Car Club, begins from Ritzville City Park on Sunday, April 23, at 9 a.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and all participants can register for $10 or $20 to have lunch included.     On the morning of Nov. 10, 2016, members of the Ritzville Fire Department responded to a structure fire call and saved the life of a male victim trapped inside a burning house. Because of the heroic act, two volunteer firefighters are being honored at the American Red Cross’ annual Hometown Heroes Luncheon on April 26 at the Spokane Convention Center.   • Eagles hosting dinner for local heroes

    The Eagles Lodge is hosting a dinner on April 28 to recognize Ritzville firefighters Dave Breazeale and Robert Dew for their heroic efforts in saving a resident from a burning home last November. The Friday recognition dinner begins at 6 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge and will feature a baked potato bar meal.     Inland Northwest Blood Center (INBC), along with the Lind-Ritzville High School Blood Drive Volunteers, are hosting a blood drive on May 1. Donation hours for the blood drive are from 11:45 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. The blood drive is located in the Gilson Gymnasium hallway. INBC needs an average of 200 blood donors every day to meet the needs of more than 35 hospitals in the Inland Northwest. A single donation can save the lives of up to three people.
