    The second Wednesday 4-H event for all youth is being hosted at the WSU Extension Office in Ritzville on Feb. 11. The event theme is Make Cake And Take, which teaches participants how to make a simple and quick microwave cake. The first session begins at 3:30 p.m., followed by a second session at 4:45 p.m. A responsible team or adult must accompany any child in third grade or under.     The Ritzville Public Library has released the February meeting dates for area book clubs. The Liquid Lit Club is meeting Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. at Memories Diner.   • Emergency food, shelter program offered

    The Adams County Emergency Food and Shelter Board invite non-profit organizations to submit applications for emergency funding for 2015. In the past 31 years more than $3.6 billion has been distributed across America to address the needs of the homeless and hungry. Last year, Adams County received $7,839.     During the Jan. 27 meeting of the Lind Town Council East Adams Rural Healthcare CEO/CFO Gary Bostrom; Hospital Commissioners Jerry Snider and Ross Heimbigner; and EMT Coordinator Roni Kinney met with council members to discuss the Lind ambulance.     The Board of Trustees of Big Bend Electric Cooperative, Inc. recently approved the refund of over $1.95 million to the Cooperative’s electric bill payers. Refunds are being mailed to consumers who purchased power from the Cooperative during the years of 1997 and 2013.   • Annual Pheasants Forever banquet packs the Legion Hall, nets over $20,000

    Local business owners, residents and families packed into the American Legion Memorial Hall to support and participate in the 16th Annual Pheasants Forever Banquet and Auction. With an estimated 160 people in attendance, the live and silent auction items alone netted nearly $16,900 for the organization.
