    The status of the East Adams Care Center, currently operated by Adams County Public Hospital District No. 2, has now reached a critical decision point. The District was given the Care Center at no cost in mid-2014 by its then-owner, Life Care Centers of America, who strongly implied that if the District did not accept the Care Center, they would close it. The decision whether to accept it and continue operating it was a difficult one, and the District went to the community for advice in a town-hall meeting on Aug. 14, 2014....

    The Ritzville Rodeo Association is hosting the Annual Meeting and Queen Coronation ceremony on Sunday, Jan. 15, at the American Legion Hall in Ritzville. The meeting begins at 3 p.m., and is immediately followed by Social Hour. At 5 p.m., dinner is served and the program begins.     The Lind Town Council approved the town’s 2017 budget and wages during their council meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 27, in the absence of Mayor Jamie Schmunk. Clerk-Deputy Kim Michaels presented the pay request from Stantec, which had been approved during their meeting on Dec. 13. The Council approved the request for up to $700 due to the fact they had not received the physical statement yet. Council members Paula Bell and Kathy White had opposed the motion. Dr. Rose Jones has accepted the position as the new Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C), and began working at the facility a month ago.     After a full week without game competition, the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos hosted Columbia-Burbank on Dec. 27 in a nonleague match up.
