As the holidays swiftly approach, the Washtucna ASB officers and the National Honor Society (NHS) chapter have stayed busy for the past few weeks. Nov. 27 marked the start of the annual community food drive; a combined effort organized by the officers of the student body, the NHS, and also the elders of the Washtucna Community Church. The Washtucna junior high and high school music program had a very busy schedule last week as they performed four times within five days in various concerts from Kahlotus to Oakesdale. Music students traveled to Washtucna, Kahlotus, and Oakesdale for various performances that surely captivated audiences at all three venues, while further expanding their knowledge and skill in the art of music. Washtucna’s publishing class, along with Washtucna’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter, visited Radio Tri-Cities in Kennewick on Tuesday, Oct. 16. Radio Tri-Cities is home of four FM stations and two AM stations including “Cities” 95.7, “Eagle” 106.5, and “Power” 99.1; and it is owned and operated by Ingstead Radio Washington.
