Chamber plans scarecrow contest

Let’s ‘scare’ up some friendly competition! The Ritzville Area Chamber of Commerce encourages all businesses, clubs, organizations and/or residents to participate in a community-wide scarecrow contest.

Participants will compete in different divisions, such as commercial, residential, organization, etc., with special prizes in each division.

The chamber received an anonymous donation for prize money for the best display by a school group, such as FBLA, FFA, cheerleaders, leadership class, individual classes, sports team, etc.

The Mad Coyote, or better known as Dale Anderson, will get the word out about the contest on the Ritzville radio station, and the chamber hopes to post something on the school’s community cable channel.

Entry forms are available at the chamber office at 111 West Main Avenue. Entry forms must be received at the chamber office by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8.

The chamber will announce the winners at the regular noon business meeting on Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Whisperin’ Palms.
