October 4, 2007 Fire destroys granary
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the cause of a structure fire on North Damon Road early Tuesday morning. Dispatch received the call at about 2:23 a.m. for a wood grain elevator on fire at the Gordon Gering farm, where Ryan and Jennifer-Gering Kuch live. Four Adams County Fire Protection District No. 2 (Lind) trucks and a water truck responded to the blaze, spending about four hours containing the blaze to the abandoned elevator and away from a nearby chicken coop and metal shed.
