Ritzville float takes top honors
in Spokane, Moses Lake
The Ritzville Festivals Association float captured first place award in the beginning parades of the 2010 season.
The top honor was awarded to the association in the Spokane Lilac Armed Forces Grand Torch Light Parade on May 14 and the Moses Lake Spring Festival Parade Memorial Day weekend.
This year’s float design, “Rumba Rhythm,” that combines vivid colors and motion was a hit with crowds as well as local television and print media, including the evening news in Spokane and several media Web sites.
A high point of the Spokane parade was a compliment given to the float crew by visiting dignitaries from Ireland, who thanked them for the extensive use of the color green.
