February 11, 2010 Adams County voters support local levies
Adams County had a 40.10 percent voter turnout for the special election on Tuesday. A total of 2,417 ballots were cast, with 500 remaining to count as of Tuesday night. The Adams County Auditor’s Office will certify the election on Feb. 24, 2010. A 60 percent voter approval is necessary for all levies except school district levies. Washtucna voters approved the park and recreation district’s maintenance and operation levy request by 66.67 percent. The ballot request failed in the 2009 General Election. The emergency medical services levy for Adams County Public Hospital District No. 2 garnered strong support. Maintenance and operation levies for the Lind, Ritzville and Washtucna School Districts also received voter approval. The following is a summary of the election night results tallied in Adams County.
