Ritzville to host sub-regional

wrestling tourney Saturday

Gilson Gymnasium in Ritzville is the site for an all-day athletic event featuring 10 teams competing at the District 5, 6, 7, 9 South Sub Regional Wrestling Tournament.

The day begins at 10 a.m. when athletes from Colfax, Davenport, Kittitas, Liberty, Lind-Ritzville, Pomeroy, Reardan, St. John-Endicott, Tri-Cities Prep and White Swan vie for the top three places.

“It’s going to be fun and exciting, with action that heats up as the day goes on,” said Lind-Ritzville Athletic Director Greg Whitmore.

Admission is $7 for adults. Senior citizens, 7-12 grade students with ASB card and K-6 grade students will pay $5 while pre-school children are admitted for free.

An ASB card is mandatory for a student to be admitted at the student admission price. Everyone who enters the gym will receive a stamp on their hand. School season passes and league passes are not accepted.

A full concession stand will feature breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. and barbecued hamburgers on sale for lunch.
