Voter registration deadlines set for special election

The Adams County Auditor’s Office reminds any person who is currently registered to vote in Washington state that they have until Monday, Jan. 11, to update their voter registration to Adams County. After the Jan. 11 date, voter registration closes to transfers and address changes until after the Feb. 9, 2010, Special Election.

State law permits persons to register to vote through Feb. 1, 2010, provided they are new registrants to the state of Washington. Persons so registering must register in person at the office of the Adams County Auditor, in the Adams County Courthouse at Ritzville or the Franklin County Auditor’s Office at 1016 N. 4th Ave in Pasco, Wash. Only voters not already registered in the state of Washington may register during this period. (RCW 29A.08.140, RCW29A.08.145)
