Lind dons colorful lights,

decorations in annual contest

A roster of fully decorated homes challenged a panel of judges tasked with choosing the top display in four categories amidst the streets of Lind on Dec. 18.

Damon and Brook Miller on West Third Street secured the top award for Best Use of Lights.

Jeff and Tracy Gardner on South First Street earned first place for Most Creative.

Dave and Margie Erdman retained their place for the top Christmas Characters on Wilber Street.

Brad and Darlene O’Neill garnered the most votes for Best Traditional Lighting.

The lighting contest is sponsored annually by the Lind Chamber of Commerce, which also took note of several light displays: Bob and Geraldine Dew on S Street, Jerry and Tina Schuler on Fifth Street, Ken and Bernice Kanzler on Lutcher, James and Rena Wahl on Seventh Street, Aran Labes and Karissa Hunter on Sixth Street, Rod and Rose Biermann on Fifth Street, Kyle and Darla Shaver on Third Street, Vi Holland and Don Klemmer on Third Street, Janet Phillips on East Third and Willie Perez on North S Street.

The chamber also recognized the efforts of Jamie Schmunk and her crew for decorating the centennial metal sculpture and historic center as well as the town’s employees for lighting up downtown with colored lights and decorations.
