Gloria M. Fode

Gloria M. Fode died Dec. 22, 2009, in Spokane. She was born Sept. 1, 1932, in Othello.

She will be remembered by her family and friends as loving, loyal and generous. She lived in Lind until her husband’s retirement in 1997, when they moved to their home on Deer Lake.

While in Lind she was a bookkeeper for the Lind Grange Supply.

They later moved to Mead. She and her husband enjoyed several years of being “snowbirds,” traveling to Yuma, Ariz., and other parts of the southwest in the winters. She was said to be a talented crafter, best known for her ceramics and cards.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Fode, of 59 years; a brother, Clifford Hays and wife Loretta of Lind; and Jan, Willy and Sara Nakio, special friends of her son, Doug; and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Larry and Doug Fode; her mother, Lucy Keeling; father, Melvin Hays; her stepfather, Leonard Keeling; and brother, Jim Keeling.

Private funeral services will be held.
