Flynn to chair Ritzville School Board

With Marci Miller and Layne Iltz seated at the board table for the first time, the Ritzville School District Board prepared for 2010 with a bit of reorganization.

Bren Curtis, who is stepping down from the board, initiated the reorganization process by asking for nominations for the position of board chairman. Warren Kragt nominated Shannon Flynn for the position. The board unanimously approved Flynn.

At that stage in the meeting Curtis turned control of the meeting over to Flynn, who completed the board’s reorganization. Kragt was selected to serve as the board’s vice-chairman. Miller stepped into the role of legislative representative.

Iltz and Flynn will serve on the Ritzville Education Association negotiations team.

Kragt and Miller will work on the Public School Employees negotiations team. Iltz was also appointed as the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association representative.
