October 22, 2009 Pauline Lucille Rushmeier
Pauline Lucille Rushmeier, age 103, died early Oct. 8, 2009. She was born Feb. 2, 1906, in Bauer’s Coulee to George and Amelia Koch. She was the youngest of seven children who were raised by their grandmother. She attended school in Lind. She married Charles A. Rushmeier in March 1923. They farmed in Prosser for a few years before returning to Lind. She worked as a housekeeper for many years and was active in the Rebekah Lodge while her husband worked for Adams County. She was an avid gardener who loved to give flowers to family and friends. When she had to move to an assisted living facility in Spokane a decade ago, it was difficult giving up her yard and garden in Lind. In 2006, she celebrated her 100th birthday with a party for family and friends. Her parents and siblings, her husband of 62 years, Charles, and two grandchildren, Leon Kubik and Nancy Grybinski, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Lucille (George) Kubik of Ritzville; sons, C. Lloyd (Violet) Rushmeier of Orting and Loren (Yvonne) Rushmeier of Oakesdale; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the funeral home on Oct. 12, 2009, followed by burial at Ritzville Memorial Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association. Danekas Funeral Home-Ritzville handled arrangements. |
