October 22, 2009 Dennis Clark Boyer
Dennis Clark Boyer, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, died in his sleep on Oct. 11, 2009, in Ocean Shores, Wash., at the home of his nephew, Tobias Remmem. He was 68 years old. Born in Aberdeen, but raised in Hoquiam, he was a proud Hoquiam Grizzly and recently attended his 50th class reunion. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army and spent a good part of his military career in Nuremburg, Germany. After his discharge from the service he married Fran McClintock, of Aberdeen, and moved to Portland, Ore., where their two children, Christian and Erika, were born. They later divorced and he never remarried. He was the second of four children born to Walter and June Boyer, who have preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, Christian Rose (Jody), Spokane; daughter, Erika Rose Pelson (Ron), Selah; brother, Barry Boyer (Christine), Ritzville; sisters, Judy Wolfe (Jerry), Vancouver, and Barbara Remmem, Hoquiam, along with many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends. A military service will be held at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Ore., at 3 p.m. on Oct. 23, 2009. The family would like to extend its appreciation to Remmem’s fiancée, Merilee Marten, her mother Patti and friend Rose for taking such wonderful care of Dennis. The family also extends its appreciation to his good friend Skip Wilson and the Hoquiam High School Class of 1959 for bringing so many smiles and laughter to his heart in his final days. |
