Former Ritzville UMC minister commissioned to Malaysia, Singapore and the Pacific Realm

The Rev. Dr. Andrew Hü and his wife have been assigned to serve in the mission field of the United Methodist Church, based in Malaysia, Singapore and the Pacific Realm. Their major serving location will be in Borneo. The Pacific Realm also includes the Pacific North: Taiwan, Hong Kong and China; Pacific West: Cambodia, Thailand and the surrounding nations; and Pacific South: Indonesia, Australia, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand.

Rev. Andrew and Kiew Hü served at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ritzville from 1999 to 2004. They presently are at the Oroville United Methodist Church. The members of the Oroville community are proud of the Hü’s willingness to go on mission work in a Moslem country mixed with Buddhism and other religions.

Rev. and Kiew Hü will be leaving Oroville United Methodist Church at the end of June. Rev. Hü will take a several week training course for the mission field.

Before leaving for the far east, they will fly to Chicago in July to revisit the Victorian-Maxey United Methodist Church, the first church they served in the United States 30 year ago.

Tuesday night, May 20, at 7:30 p.m. there will be a gathering at Trinity United Methodist Church to visit with the Hüs, share in hearing about Borneo and also take part in a “sending-forth” blessing for their mission overseas. This is being hosted by the mission committee at Trinity United Methodist Church.
