Top fuel dragster to appear at

Washtucna auto show

 

A full day of top-notch vehicles, trap shooting, breakfast, a catered smokehouse barbecue meal and live music are on tap at the Third Annual Washtucna Classic Auto Show on Saturday, June 28, at the high school football field.

Topping the day’s activities is Nitro Cat, a top fuel dragster owned by Craig Smith, who was raised in Odessa and lives in Warden. He currently flies turbine powered cropdusters and Lear passenger jets through his business, Jet Air Entertainment, according to his Web site at http://craigsmithmotorsports.com.

Washtucna Volunteer Firefighters will serve breakfast Saturday morning until the show starts.

The Washtucna Gun Club will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cars, trucks and motorcycles will fill the grassy field before the show opens at 10 a.m. Prizes are awarded for top entries in categories such as pre-1950 truck, 1950-1975 truck, pre-1950 car, 1950-1975 car, truck/jeep/4x4, motorcycle, best foreign, daily driver and modified hotrod.

Other attractions include:

• Free shredding of personal documents by United Data Security

• Live music at Sonny’s Tavern after the show

• Concessions

• Flea market

• Free swimming
