Lind Town Council adopts zoning change

The Lind Town Council accepted changes to the zoning ordinance in reference to manufactured homes Tuesday night after receiving no public comment at a public hearing on April 8.

The ordinance establishes that designated manufactured homes (which are homes built since June 15, 1976) 10 years or newer are allowed in the R1 zone.

In R2, designated manufactured homes 20 years or newer are permitted.

The only member of the public present at the hearing was Gary DeMoss, who initiated the process after purchasing property in the northwest portion of the town for a manufactured home.

DeMoss initially submitted a variance request in January, which he rescinded on Feb. 11, after the council, Attorney John Strohmaier and Adams County Building and Planning Director Loren Wiltse discussed what constituted a variance.

At that meeting, the council decided to review the ordinance.
