County launches revamped Web site

Adams County is in the process of revamping and updating its Web site. The new site (http://www.co.adams.wa.us) went online the end of last week.

The site features the same information in a fresh, new format. The redesign is the first step in the overall plan to provide more information to the public as well as provide a means for departments to design and update their portion of the Web site.

The county contracted with Spokane Web Communications of Liberty Lake, Wash. “(The county) needed a redesign with content management that would allow multiple users to update information in the Web site,” according to the company’s site at http://www.spokaneweb.net.

According to the county commissioners, the site will be user friendly to county departments and the public to the point that each department can update its own portion of the site.

Overall training is forthcoming for individuals within each department who are responsible for maintaining and updating that portion of the Web site.

In upcoming weeks, departments will upload new and additional information. At this point, the commissioners are not planning to initiate overall design standards.

“I think it’s better to err on too much information,” Commissioner Rudy Plager said.
