April 24, 2008 Join Hands Day activities set for Ritzville
Adults and youth submitted a full slate of jobs for the Ritzville Join Hands Day set for Saturday, May 3, 2008. Volunteers are needed to ensure the success of the 2008 project. Included in the list of jobs is helping home owners that are senior citizens with cleaning up the yard, weeding, washing windows, taking recyclable items to a recycle location, etc. Other jobs listed are: • Two volunteers to weed/spread rocks around the Welcome to Ritzville sign on West First Avenue and pick up trash. • Four volunteers to put sealer on downtown benches, possibly working at the city shop. • Ten volunteers for work at the park, including scrape/repaint tables, scrape/paint/etc. gazebo and community kitchen gazebo. • Food bank contest – collect food for the local community food bank. Adult volunteers may sign up by calling Tony and Nancy Burke at 659-4086. Youth volunteers need to contact Suzanne Gust at the high school to sign up. |
