BILLINGS, Mont. – The body of a man missing since December of last year has been found.

Rose Bud County Sheriff, Randy Allies, said one of his deputies and a fish and game warden recovered the body of 39-year-old Tom Smith Monday from the Yellowstone River about one mile west of Forsyth.

Smith’s pickup was found in a ditch on Dec. 17 on Smith’s Creek Road. Sheriff Allies said they were unable to check the river at the time he went missing because it was frozen over.

An autopsy was performed Tuesday to determine cause of death.
