April 10, 2008 Telegraphers to convene in Ritzville
The Spokane Chapter of the Morse Telegraph Club (MTC), Inc. will hold its spring luncheon on Saturday, April 26, at the Circle T Inn in Ritzville. Telegraphers and guests will meet in the banquet room for a full day of wire activities, including telegraphic communication with other MTC Chapters from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. as well as Show and Tell of telegraph or railroad items during the day. Lunch is served at noon, and reservations are not required. The luncheon celebrates 20 years of the “SK” Spokane Chapter, which was chartered Jan. 1, 1988. The first official banquet was held April 28-30, 1988, and celebrated Prof. Samuel F. B. Morse’s birthday. The 2008 gathering will follow suit and honor Morse, who invented the telegraph.
