April 3, 2008 Adams County Republicans elect delegates
The Adams County Republican Party held its convention at the Adams County Courthouse on Saturday, March 29. Bob Fuller was elected as chairman for the convention. Randy Flyckt served as secretary. Senator Mark Schoesler and Representative Joe Schmick gave brief legislative updates. County Commissioner Rudy Plager gave a short state of the county report. The following individuals were elected as delegates to the Washington State Convention to be held on May 29-31, 2008, in Spokane at the new convention center. Delegates elected were: William “John” Reneau, Othello; Ann Olson, Kathleen Bowen and Rudy Plager, all of Ritzville. Alternates elected were: Randy Flyckt, Krista Faure and Dwight Bowen of Ritzville and Elizabeth Reneau, Othello. Automatic delegates to the convention are Adams County Republican Party Chairman Bob Fuller with committee members Bill Morris and Betty Jo Hanes, all of Othello. Olson will serve on the Platform Committee at the convention. Reneau will serve on the Rules Committee at the convention while Morris will serve on the Credentials Committee at the convention. The group approved five resolutions to be presented at the convention: • The Republican Party will continue to stand for the rights of our smallest and most vulnerable citizens, the unborn. • The Republican Party will continue to support and define marriage as being between a man and a woman. • The Republican Party will continue to oppose euthanasia. • The Republican Party will continue to support parents’ rights to choose their children’s form of education, whether it be public, private or home schooling. • The Republican Party will oppose the unconstitutional process of legislating from the bench. We support the judges who confine themselves to interpreting the current law, according to the intent of our founding fathers. |
