Both parties slate local caucuses for Saturday

 

Caucuses for the Republican and Democratic Parties are set for Saturday, Feb. 9, in Ritzville starting at 1 p.m.

According to the Washington’s Secretary of State information about the 2008 Presidential Primary, the Republican Party will use the Presidential Primary results to allocate 51 percent of its delegates, and the remaining 49 percent of the delegates will be allocated based on caucus results.

The Democratic Party will base 100 percent of its delegate selection on the results of the caucus system.

Democratic

The Democratic Caucus is scheduled in the back room at the Circle T Inn at 214 West Main Avenue in Ritzville at 1 p.m. for the following precincts:

Batum, Benge, Cunningham, Fairview, Hatton City, Hatton Rural, Lind City, Lind Rural, Ralston, Ritzville Rural Northwest, Ritzville Rural Southeast, Ritzville Wards 1-5, Schrag, Washtucna and Washtucna Rural.

Republican

The Ritzville Wards 1-4, Ritzville Rural Northwest, Ritzville Rural Southeast, Batum, Benge, Washtucna, Washtucna Rural, Ralston, Lind City, Lind Rural, Fairview and Schrag precincts will caucus at the Adams County Superior Court Room in the Adams County Courthouse at 210 West Broadway Avenue from 1-2:30 p.m.

The Hatton City, Hatton Rural, Cunningham, Othello 1-6 and Othello Rural 1-6 will caucus in the library of McFarland Junior High School at 790 South Tenth, Othello, from 1-2:30 p.m.
